Pharmacy Technician Job Opportunities?
Jade Green asked the question:
I’ve almost finished my training to be a Pharmacy Technician. I googled and found a lot of job listings but I can’t seem to find a lot for Techs…there’s a lot for Pharmacists, though. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Answers would be much appreciated…
Jade Green,
Can you recommend GED online schools?

Try going to some of your neighborhood pharmacies and just asking them id they are hiring. You could also look in your local phone book to expand your options a little bit more. Try looking into mail order pharmacies. Good luck!
Walgreens is a really good chance.
Walmart, grocery stores, CVS and Eckerds usually post their employment opportunities on their own websites. You may have to grab the yellowpages and then try the company websites individually.
Where do you get your RX’s filled? Since they know you, couldn’t you charm them into hiring you right out of school?
Best of luck in your job search.
This is coming from experience. Working for a retail pharmacy will not give you as good of pay as if you were working at a hospital pharmacy. The best way is to actually go into the Hospitals themselves and request an application and inquire to see if they are hiring. When you go in the pharmacy who is looking for help be more willing to interview a person who took the inititive to stop in. However, some good retail pharmacies are Synders, Sam’s Club, Cubs, in my opinion Walgreens has a terrible cap on pay and they are way to busy for comfort. Well good luck looking for a job. Here’s a real example for you… Got a job at Childrens Hospital and started at $15.00 after 2 years making $30. Well good luck on the exam if you haven’t taken it yet. and Never set your standards low. There are jobs for Pharmacy Technicians everywhere. You gotta just try hard. Ask for the best and work hard. Take Care.
