to be certified you need to take the national certification test (which is hard, you’re going to want to have to actual schooling behind you) walgreen’s cannot certify you. but not all pharmacies and hospitals demand certification, it depends on their policy.
They want you to take and pass the PTCE. The certification is national. It won’t exactly help you get a job.
Walgreens policy is that all techs should be nationally certified, this shows there commitment to to quality. Most store managers prefer you already be certified with some experience before you get hired. Others will hire anyone and train them depending on if the pharmacy manager oks it. if so they will train you and after you work i think 1000 hrs you have to take the national tech certification test and walgreens will reimburse you if you pass. Then you get a raise
