i’m currently a senior in high school asking how to be pharmacy technician if have 3 relatives as pharmac?
Girl Power asked the question:
i’m currently a senior in high school, i’m currently searching for pharmacy school and i found it’s a good thing to have some curricular activities related to pharmacy like shadowing office or workplaces
and i also heard of being a pharmacist technician too
so is pharmacy technician a hands-on training job
if not, i have 3 relatives that are licensed pharmacist
is there anything they can do to help me get that job or help me with employment ?
they live in diff states as me so i can’t really ask them ( just came up with the questions)
Appreciate for any replies

Pharmacy school, for a PharmD is usually taken as a 3-4 year postgrad program.
There are several ways to get a license to be a pharmacy technician too. It’s wonderful experience and it pays quite well. In California, there are two ways that most folks use -
You can take the courses at a junior college and apply for a license.
Or you can take an exam by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board - Take the test and you’re certified and you can get a license. At least in California. I took the PTCB exam as an undergraduate. It cost about $100 dollars and wasn’t all that hard. I spent about $20 on a study booklet for it with sample tests. I’m a pharma-nerd though, so your experience may vary.
