Pharmacy Technician question?

delphina0723 asked the question:

So how exactly does it work to become a pharmacy tech if you you just study the material and get the certification? Do you have to just learn the skills on the job? Or are there places that let you train beforehand? Anyone done this? Let me know what you did.

In the state of Alabama, you don’t have to go to school for it. You do have to learn a lot by training, studying, and passing the exam to become licensed, but it doesn’t require school. For sure, you do have to be licensed before you can handle drugs, though. A good place to start would be applying at a drug store, even as a clerk, and talk to them about the process. It may vary from state to state.
