What careers are availiable in medical?
PeguinBackPacker asked the question:
The obvious is nursing and doctor, but I was wondering about other fields. I am looking at certification programs (maybe dental assistant, nurse’s aid, medical assistant, pharmacy assistant, pt assistant, admin assistant, and ect.) and was wondering what careers through certification is out there, how long is the training and how much it costs, and what are some good schools. What are the employment demands, are they high?
How portable are they, could such qualifications be accepted world wide or travel easy?
Any suggestions or information on what job paths are available in the various fields?
Answer what you can or point me in the right direction. I know they are broad, but whatever answers I can get would make asking detailed questions easier later on.

You are asking a question that is way too broad. It would take hours to answer this. I suggest that you do a little research (library or web) to refine what you are looking for. These jobs all require different skill sets and personalitites. You also have to make sure the field / job you choose fits you..
There are web pages in each industry (and in the goverment) that show the projections of how many of each job speciality will be needed and what the average salary is.
the best I can do and something that gets me many best answers is simply to advice you to take career aptitude tests like this one and they’ll tell you what suits your own personality, based on the test you took.
there are a few more tests here–listings.info/
hope I helped, cheers
I am a medical transcriptionist. We listen to dictation created by medical providers and transcribe them into patient health records for their medical charts. The schooling takes about 12-18 months and the cost is around $3000 to $4000. Medical transcriptionists are in very high demand AND about 85% of the workforce work from home. I would highly suggest M-TEC if you are interested in a career in medical transcription. They are accredited in Ohio and the first school to be approved by AHDI. Also, they use college-level textbooks, continuously update their curriuculum based on the ever-changing industry standards, the only school to teach MT-based technology, and have a 100% placement rate of their graduates, which was just reported to their State Board.
