I am considering becoming a Pharmacy Technician. Does anyone have good advice for me?

Does anyone have any good advise or insight on this career?
Are there any good websites that have good non-bias information?
What kind of training do I need?
What type of pharmacy pays top rate? I heard that Veterans Hospitals don’t pay well.
Is there a good future in this field or is it dead end?
How much will an entry level position pay and what is the pay raise opportunity?
Do Pharmacy Techs usually enjoy their jobs?
All information will be appriciated both positive and negative.

    I dated a girl that was a pharmacy tech for a major chain of drug stores. She made good money, about $17 an hour to start. The key is to stay away from any government job, especially state hospitals! This is one job that won’t be laying off anytime soon. She didn’t have many complaints other then long hours during cold and flu season.
